Jeff Madrick, finalist for distinguished PEN/John Kenneth Galbraith Award for Nonfiction

Princeton University Press would like to congratulate Jeff Madrick and his book THE CASE FOR BIG GOVERNMENT for being a finalist in the 2009 PEN/John Kenneth Galbraith Award for Nonfiction.  It was one of three books, and the only university press book on the list.  The award went to Steve Coll for his excellent book The Bin Ladens: An Arabian Family in the American Century.  The other finalist was Jane Mayer’s book The Dark Side The Inside Story of How the War on Terror Turned Into a War on American Ideals.

Ok – so I had to let this comment through because I love the idea that someone might send Jeff Madrick some citrus fruit to congratulate him… it made me giggle 🙂

  4. Haha, I for one plan on sending him a congratulatory bag of those “little cuties”, they are perfect for when you need your Vitamin C on the go. Enjoy Jeff.

  5. Congrats Jeff! Its great to see someone standing up the big business that have ruined this country! Its because of them we are in all in these economic problems, and we bail them out.

  6. Congratulations Jeff! Kudos to you!

  7. heimarbeit kugelschreiber says:

It’s better late than never! Congratulations to you Jeff! Your the man!

  8. Is it possible to get Jeff’s book in the uk?

  9. Just ordered a copy of this, very curios to read Jeff’s side of the argument for big government. Frankly I’m on the fence, with Ron Paul shouting on the other side!
Will report back with more when it arrives!

  10. The case for big government is an intriguing title! Despite being what Washington and Hamilton wanted (think of the Whiskey Rebellion) I think even they would be a little surprised by where we have come to…

  11. Rob Rovere says:

Congrats Jeff. @ Barry, yes I ordered the book from UK, no problems.
